Forgiveness: The Doorway to Blessing
In this powerful and deeply personal message, Pastor Esther Bartels delivers a heartfelt sermon on the liberating power of forgiveness. Drawing from Psalm 147:3, Matthew 18:15-22, Job 42:10, and Ezekiel 36:26, she walks the congregation through the signs of unforgiveness, the wounds of a broken heart, and God’s desire to heal and restore His people. With honesty, compassion, and practical wisdom, Pastor Esther encourages every listener to release those who have hurt them — opening the door to God’s abundant blessings and renewed joy.
Overview
In this message, Pastor Esther Bartels exposes the hidden symptoms of unforgiveness and traces its destructive progression from anger through bitterness to spiritual bondage, using Psalm 147:3 as the central anchor. She demonstrates from Scripture — including Psalm 34:18, Ezekiel 36:26, Job 42:10, and Matthew 18:15–22 — that God is the healer of broken hearts and that forgiveness is not merely a moral duty but the very doorway through which divine blessing flows. The sermon closes with an urgent, pastoral call to release every offender by name, to allow the Holy Spirit to perform a "surgery of the heart," and to receive the double restoration that follows genuine, intentional forgiveness.
Key Scripture Passages
- Psalm 147:3 — The primary text: God heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds; the theological foundation for divine restoration after injury.
- Psalm 34:18 — The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit; a companion promise of God's closeness in pain.
- Ezekiel 36:26 — God's promise to replace the stony, hardened heart with a tender heart of flesh; the prophetic basis for genuine transformation.
- Job 42:10 — The Lord restored Job's fortunes when he prayed for the friends who had wronged him; the paradigm for blessing released through forgiveness.
- Matthew 18:15–22 — Jesus's step-by-step process for addressing offense within the community of faith; includes the principle of binding and loosing.
- John 3:16 (referenced) — God's love for the world in its brokenness and shame; the ultimate answer to rejection and unwantedness.
- Genesis 8:22 (implied in "seedtime and harvest") — As long as the earth remains, sowing and reaping will continue; God governs where the harvest comes from.
- 1 Corinthians 3:6–7 (implied) — One plants, another waters, but God gives the increase; the harvest does not have to return from where the seed was sown.
Sermon Outline
- Diagnosing Unforgiveness: The Eight Warning Signs
Pastor Esther opens by challenging the congregation's assumption that ignoring a person equals forgiving them. She lists concrete, observable indicators that reveal a heart still held captive by offense.
- Constant mental replay of the offense whenever the person comes to mind
- Anger triggered by simply hearing the offender's name
- Deliberate avoidance of the person at all costs
- Inability to pray comfortably for the person
- Secret rejoicing when something bad happens to the offender
- Repeatedly rehearsing and bringing up the past
- Loss of joy whenever the offender is mentioned
- A generalized inability to trust anyone, projecting past wounds onto new relationships
- The Root and the Progression: From Anger to Destruction
Drawing on a dramatic illustrated story ("Mama Joy"), Pastor Esther maps the internal journey: anger at unmet expectations becomes unforgiveness, which hardens into bitterness, which opens a spiritual door to destructive forces. The congregation is warned that the enemy exploits unforgiveness to present counterfeit "justice."
- Unmet expectations — especially expecting blessings to return from the same people we blessed — are a primary seedbed of anger
- Bitterness is anger that has been allowed to take root and is reinforced over time
- Spiritual vulnerability follows: the enemy whispers "get back at them" to those who have not released offense
- The person who seeks vengeance ends up in shame and ruin; the people prayed against receive their freedom
- God's Word to the Brokenhearted: The Central Scriptures
Pastor Esther turns to the healing promises of God as the only reliable remedy, leading the congregation in a corporate prayer of surrender and release.
- Psalm 147:3 — He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds; the congregation is invited to place a hand on their chest and receive this healing
- Psalm 34:18 — God is near, not absent, in seasons of heartbreak and rejection
- Ezekiel 36:26 — God replaces the stone heart (hardened by repeated hurt) with a heart of flesh capable of receiving and giving love
- Cycles of broken-heartedness — from childhood rejection through adult relationships — must be interrupted by intentional healing, not merely suppressed
- Personal testimony: Pastor Esther shares the pain of her parents' divorce and the rejection of hearing both parents say "it's not my responsibility" regarding their children; she applies the gospel directly: "Christ wants you"
- Forgiveness as the Doorway to Blessing: The Central Theme
The sermonic title is unpacked theologically: unforgiveness is a hidden barrier that blocks the flow of blessing, while forgiveness deliberately opens that door.
- Job 42:10 — Job's captivity was turned when he prayed for the very friends who had wronged him; God then doubled everything he had lost
- Unforgiveness blocks partnership and unity — in marriage, in ministry, in church — which are the very platforms God uses to multiply blessing
- The enemy's strategy is always division; wherever he sees potential for great impact, he sows seeds of offense
- Releasing people in prayer — even enemies — is the act that unlocks divine restoration ("I will restore to you the years the locusts have eaten," Joel 2:25)
- Unforgiveness releases toxic stress hormones in the body; research links chronic unforgiveness to cancer and other serious illness
- The Biblical Process for Handling Offense: Matthew 18:15–22
Jesus provides a structured, community-accountable pathway for resolving conflict that protects both parties and prioritizes the restoration of relationship over the winning of arguments.
- Step 1 (v.15): Go privately to the offender; the goal is to "gain your brother," not to win or expose
- Step 2 (v.16): If unresolved, bring one or two witnesses — not to gang up but to establish truth
- Step 3 (v.17): If still unresolved, bring it to the church; and if the person refuses even the church, release them — "let him be as a heathen" — without bitterness
- Binding and Loosing (v.18): Holding unforgiveness spiritually binds the offender and prevents blessing on both sides; releasing them looses both parties into freedom
- Agreement in Prayer (v.19): When two come into unity — especially spouses or ministry partners — there is supernatural power; the enemy therefore targets agreement first
- Note on perception: many perceived offenses are not intentional; going to the person often reveals misunderstanding
- Sometimes people operate out of ignorance, not malice; time and God's dealings will often bring them to their own realization
- Practical Pathways to Healing and Release
Pastor Esther closes with pastoral, culturally aware counsel on how healing actually happens — pushing back against the African-diaspora cultural norm of suppressing pain.
- Acknowledge the pain honestly rather than performing recovery
- Seek counseling and allow yourself to grieve and process
- Give yourself tender love and care: rest, retreat, worship music, solitude
- Distance yourself temporarily from sources of repeated pain when necessary
- Be intentional and proactive: call the person; model forgiveness before preaching it (personal testimony: Pastor Esther called someone before delivering this very sermon)
- Walk in preemptive forgiveness — enter communities, marriages, and churches already decided that people will offend and you will forgive
- Model humility consistently; it disarms opposition over time (workplace testimony of the feuding nurses reconciled through consistent, unconditional greeting)
Theological Insights
- God as Physician of the Soul (Psalm 147:3): The image of God binding wounds is drawn from ancient Near Eastern royal imagery — kings were expected to care for their subjects' welfare. Applied to Yahweh, it declares that the ultimate Sovereign personally tends to the emotional and spiritual injuries of His people. This is not metaphor only; the New Testament locates this healing in the ministry of Jesus (Luke 4:18, citing Isaiah 61:1–2).
- The Stone Heart and the New Heart (Ezekiel 36:26): This passage belongs to the great restoration oracle of Ezekiel 36–37, originally addressed to Israel in exile. The "stony heart" (lev ha-even in Hebrew) is not merely stubborn willfulness but a heart calcified by repeated trauma and covenant-breaking. The "heart of flesh" (lev basar) is one that is responsive, tender, and capable of covenant relationship. The New Testament sees this promise fulfilled in the new-covenant work of the Holy Spirit (2 Corinthians 3:3; Hebrews 8:10).
- Seedtime and Harvest (Genesis 8:22): Pastor Esther draws on this creation ordinance to correct a common misunderstanding about reciprocity. God guarantees that sowing will produce a harvest, but He alone determines the soil where the harvest grows. This guards against transactional relationships and the bitterness that follows when blessings do not return from the place we planted them. The Apostle Paul echoes this: "God gives the growth" (1 Corinthians 3:7).
- Binding and Loosing (Matthew 18:18): In rabbinic usage, "binding" (asar) and "loosing" (hittir) referred to authoritative rulings that either prohibited or permitted. Jesus transfers this language to the relational sphere: the believer's refusal to forgive functions as a spiritual binding that restricts both the offender's freedom and the believer's own blessing. Releasing forgiveness functions as a "loosing" that liberates both parties. This gives forgiveness a cosmic, not merely psychological, significance.
- The Progression of Unforgiveness: The sermon traces a biblically consistent spiritual anatomy — offense → anger → unforgiveness → bitterness → spiritual bondage. This mirrors the New Testament warning in Hebrews 12:15: "See to it that no one fails to obtain the grace of God; that no root of bitterness springs up and causes trouble, and through it many become defiled." Bitterness is described there as a "root" — hidden, spreading, and defiling whole communities.
- The Double Restoration of Job (Job 42:10): Job's restoration is explicitly linked to his intercession for the friends who had wronged him. The Hebrew verb shub shebut ("turned the captivity") is an idiom for comprehensive reversal of fortune. Theologically, Job's act of praying for his accusers mirrors the posture of Christ, who prayed for those who crucified Him (Luke 23:34). Forgiveness aligned Job with the very character of God and opened the channel of divine abundance.
- God's Love as the Antidote to Rejection: Pastor Esther's personal testimony of parental rejection is met directly with John 3:16 — the definitive declaration that God loves the world in its brokenness, not after it is repaired. This is the theological heart of the gospel: divine love precedes human worthiness. The incarnation and atonement are God's answer to every form of abandonment.
- Unforgiveness as Pride: Pastor Esther identifies the desire for personal vengeance as a form of pride — the assertion that I must adjudicate and repay this wrong myself. Forgiveness, by contrast, is an act of surrender to divine sovereignty: "Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord" (Romans 12:19). It is the humility of trusting God's justice over one's own.
- Unity as Spiritual Power (Matthew 18:19–20): The agreement of two believers in prayer carries supernatural authority. Pastor Esther connects this to Genesis 11:6, where God acknowledges that a united people can accomplish what they set out to do. The enemy's primary strategy is therefore to introduce division through offense — because a divided couple, church, or partnership loses its spiritual momentum entirely.
Word & Context Study
- "Heals" / rapha (Hebrew, Psalm 147:3): The Hebrew verb rapha (רָפָא) is the standard Old Testament word for healing, used of both physical and spiritual restoration. It is the root of the divine name Yahweh Rapha — "the LORD who heals" (Exodus 15:26). In Psalm 147:3, the same verb appears in the Piel stem, indicating intensive, thorough, and repeated healing action. God does not merely treat symptoms; He heals comprehensively. The verse places "brokenhearted" (nishberei lev) and "wounds" (atzabot) in parallel — emotional devastation and its ongoing pain are both within the scope of God's healing work.
- "Brokenhearted" (nishberei lev, Hebrew, Psalm 147:3; Psalm 34:18): The word shabar (שָׁבַר), from which this participial form derives, means to shatter or break into pieces, often used of pottery or bones. Applied to the heart (lev), it conveys not mild sadness but a heart that has been violently fractured. The image is vivid: God gathers up the shattered pieces of a person's inner life and reassembles them. Psalm 34:18 adds that God is not merely willing to heal such a person — He is already near (qarov) to them.
- "Contrite Spirit" (dakka, Hebrew, Psalm 34:18): The word dakka (דַּכָּא) means crushed, ground fine like powder. A contrite spirit is not merely sorry; it is one that has been humbled to powder by life's weight. Far from being

unforgiveness what are the signs how do you know because sometimes we think that just because we
say to some people oh i ain't paying them in any mind that doesn't mean you are forgiving them
what are the signs that we are working in unforgiveness number one constant replay of the
offense listen to me constant replay anytime you think of that person you don't look at anything
all you think about is what the person did to you since that is a place where we are in of uh what
in or in unforgiveness we are walking in unforgiveness two anger when you hear the
person's name mentioned oh somebody are you going to pick up some of you angry when you hear the
person's name mentioned you can be in a good mood and join your food immediately dimension
esther then you're you lose you lose your appetite amen you are walking in unforgiveness
you avoid the person at all costs hey you avoid the person i was i was in one particular ministry
somebody was the prayer leader and then they devoted another prayer leader in so the person
anytime she see the person will come from this direction she won't go to the next door amen
because they don't want to even see the person you are working in unforgiveness amen number four
you find it difficult to pray for them anytime that we bring somebody's topic and you cannot
feel comfortable we cannot feel comfortable pray for that person it means that we have what
on forgiveness amen number five we secretly rejoice when bad things happen to them this one
the christians we are number one this this one christians we are number one immediately we hear
that something bad has happened to somebody who offended you see they don't know touch not my
anointed we start praying all kind of religious saying all kind of religious jargons you see
you see they didn't know they touched the wrong one i'm telling you hallelujah most of them the
root is what unforgiveness amen number six keep bringing up the past you keep bringing up the past
we know that we are working in unforgiveness disturb joy anytime that you are you are in joy
coming onto you you somebody brings up the person what are we doing we are in unforgiveness and then
the last one that is very dangerous is we come to a place where we don't trust people do you know that
own forgiveness will get us to a place where we don't trust anybody because just because this man
left me it means that when i marry another person they're going to do what they're going to leave me
so we go into the marriage already prepared on how we are going to act since i'm telling you we go
into a relationship already knowing that this person is going to dupe me because everybody that
came into my life i've done one have duped me oh hallelujah we already prepare an answer before a
question that's what says listen when we are not forgiven you know when people are talking
communicating with us we are not listening you know because we already have that thing back of
my hand oh she's coming to me let me see what she's coming for what is she coming to oh that
so when we have all these symptoms we know that we are in unforgiveness amen hallelujah
but the word of god i want us to look at some one for the seven verse three and there is before we
open that scripture i don't know if david is ready to i put that video on but i don't know if david
is able to put it on for me i put it on our platform the other day he wasn't able to do it
because listen one thing about i don't know if most of you were able to watch it when i put it
on the whatsapp it was a woman that she was so nice to everybody in the community and she had
what you call a husband and how many children two or three children listen so she was helpful to
everybody in the community but then so i have to tell you that you see most of the time when we have
all forgiveness is because we did something and we want people to pay us back since i need to tell
you that when you bless someone god will know you the same person to do what to bless you
that is the problem we have just because i help uh minister george i expect that when i'm also in
trouble minister george is going to help me but god is going to use anybody to help you it don't
have to come from the same place you planted the seed so when you sow a seed god is the one that's
going to show you where the harvest is going to come from say sometimes you will walk in a lot of
unforgiveness what you expect blessings from the same places you blessed how many people have raised
their children and today they don't see their children if those parents begin to be better
they will be working in something deep deep on forgiveness hallelujah there are women that have
helped men they don't see the men anymore if you live a life always looking for where you sow
for you to reap from those grounds you will be a person that is so better in life hallelujah
because god the word of god says see time and harvest as long as the earth remains
see time and harvest shall never cease you saw he said one man planted another man watered it is god
that brings the world increase not you and god is the one that touch every some sense it will touch
anybody's heart like some people come to church they'll say i give in to the church so i expect
the church to help me sometimes it's not the church that's going to help you he can use the
world yes i'm telling you last sunday i was some this small testimony i was coming to church somebody
gave me 150 dollars the person says oh i just want to bless you but when i came i said as long
as this 150 is coming from this person i'm going to put it in the altar so i came and i put in the
altar and i said father this is my sacrifice because i said father i didn't even take ten
dollars for myself i didn't take anything for myself so this one is sure i was telling god this
one is a sacrifice but you know i was my husband was going to buy a ticket he went to buy the ticket
he bought the ticket when he bought the ticket they made a mistake with the time so he said
i said i call you i call them to tell them that they made a mistake with your time
and the people start saying oh it's okay how about we give her a first class ticket because of that
so that day this week i said father i sacrificed so i put 150 in the altar god gave me an increase
of 2000 because the ticket was four thousand something they ended i ended up paying 2400 for it
you see what I'm telling you that I want you to understand that the harvest wherever your harvest
is coming from sometimes you do not know these are some of the ways we get a harvest
hallelujah God will open some kind of door so God will open a business door somebody will come and
whisper to you that something good is happening somebody can make a mistake and that mistake can
open the door for you oh somebody hallelujah hallelujah so just because you gave pastor mary
a something in her hand doesn't mean that pastor mary also next time when you have a need you go
back to pastor mary god can use anybody amen oh hallelujah when you look at the word of god one
day god used a donkey he used a donkey amen because since if we don't broaden our horizon
our eyes is going to and we are going to be live a life of full of disappointment i gave to the
church tight i gave to the church offering so i'm expecting that when i'm in need the church will help
me god can't touch anybody to help you hallelujah amen because he said we are blessed to be what
a blessing hallelujah amen so the word when we read when you look at that woman's story
is this is a man a woman with three children a woman with what three children and when you look
at her story she was helping everybody but when it came to a point when her husband and her children
god's sake you see she didn't put her eyes on god who was she looking at all the people in the
neighborhood and the people in the neighborhood could not help her so she became better since so
you walk from unforgiveness now you get to a place because it starts with anger you know
anger is the root you are angry that somebody did not help you then you go to unforgiveness
then you go to bitterness then you see a spirit now comes in so you see the spirit came and the
spirit said do you want to get back to the people and that is what unforgiveness does we always want
to get back to the people but today somebody or somebody said release everybody hallelujah and
since this thing that we are just saying i release everybody sometimes you are not ready to release
it yet because you have to heal and for healing to come it has to come from the holy spirit that
will heal you because we easily say things in church oh fatte oh leave it alone oh but since
sometimes you are whole that thing has been deep rooted and you are not easily able to let it go
but today i am praying that this scripture that is going to come will give you a place of peace that you are going to let it go oh somebody hallelujah oh somebody hallelujah because the saints as long as you are on this earth somebody is going to offend you
where is what if you want to see your offense go to husbands and wives then you will see where the
big offense is because why you are in the same house on the same bed you go to the same but i'm
telling familiarity all kind of things happen there are people that if i'm not close to brother john
he cannot offend me so the people that are going to offend you are the people that are very close to
you that is why jesus even one day said the man's enemies are from his own household hallelujah
hallelujah so you have to have a heart where you're already going to forgive people already
saying you are oh yeah this one is going to offend me so i need to forgive the ocean when i come to
church they're going to offend me their pastor is going to offend everybody's going to offend me
so i have already prepared to walk in love because the word of god says that the love of god is
shed abroad in our hearts by the holy ghost hallelujah and so that we can walk in peace so
psalm 147 verse 3. psalm 147 147 verse 3. and i pray that these scriptures you write it down and
you meditate on it so you can receive healing and since i'm talking to you if you need counseling
seek counseling so sometimes our pain is rooted this woman they don't let it go because the people
in the community did not help her what do you think happened the spirit presented something to
her to do and she did it and when she did it what happened she's the one that got into what shame
disgrace she ended up being crazy and she died in this thing that she entered in so sometimes
while you are upset somebody can present something to you oh this one fight back oh why don't you do
this to that person oh they deserve for you yeah they deserve to die all kind of things because
it's the enemy that is programming you for you to fail but since when you let it go oh somebody you
can walk in freedom hallelujah when you you can let it go you can walk in freedom so psalm 147
verse 3 says that he he let the one the broken in heart and bind that up their wounds somebody put
your hand on your chest today and say father holy spirit heal my broken heart and bind up my wounds
say it again father heal my broken heart and bind up my wounds or somebody say it again father
heal my broken heart and bind up my wounds in the name of jesus because some of the wounds
the broken heart is deep uh pastor terry a few people i don't know that day i think pastor terry
sister pearl and pastor marius were the only people that were on the line and i was going
through something i got on the line the way the tears came out of my heart i think everybody
started crying on the line sometimes the broken heart can be so deep because sometimes you can go
through a state a situation in your life where this one is breaking your heart this one is breaking
your heart this it can start from your childhood it started when maybe you went through rejection
from your father's house and your mother's house maybe you were that child that all your siblings
were pushing around so you already carry that head with you then you grow and you you end up in
relationships and then you experience another one broken heart then you marry then you experience
what broken heart then you have children and you experience what broken heart so you have cycles of
broken heart it says i'm telling you if you don't come to a place of healing that is your cycle
until you die with bitterness and you know they did a research where a lot of people when they
they get cancer they realize that there's a root of unforgiveness today i pray that you heal oh
somebody somebody today i pray that you heal hallelujah i pray that you receive healing
from all the broken heart
from all the pain, childhood
pain, rejection
let me tell you, there is a story that I always share
that I will never forget when my parents
were going through divorce
they were in this room and they were discussing
the whole family have come together
because our culture, we think children
don't have brains, that they don't hear anything
that's going on
we put children through so many things
we think they can't hear us
but that conversation I will never forget
the elders will ask my mother
you are the woman, won't you take your children?
she said no, it's not my responsibility
then they will ask my father
you are the man, won't you take the children?
he will also say what?
it's not my responsibility
so all of them said it's not what?
your responsibility
do you know what kind of rejection you can carry because of that?
because as a child
you are saying nobody wants me
today I want to tell somebody here
if you grew up
believing that nobody wants you
that Christ wants you.
Oh, are you hearing me?
Hallelujah.
Hallelujah.
If you grew up knowing that nobody wants you,
I need to tell you that Christ does what wants you.
He said, for God so loved the world.
He loved us even in our brokenness,
in our shame, in our reproach,
in our failure, our disappointment.
Whatever we have done, my God,
He said He loved us,
that He brought His only Son to die for us.
Amen.
so i just want you to come to a place where you know that god loves you
when nobody loves you oh somebody god loves you hallelujah hallelujah thank you lord god maybe if
can you play it a little bit towards the end maybe now this is how the people have surrounded it
these are the same people that that spirit gave permission so that he can do what he can fight
against the people in the community because now she got exposed and now look at what she's now on
the ground what is happening fire fire are you okay what is it fire fire what's happening
Mama Joy was once the kindest woman in the small town of Uundara.
She went heavily with her loving husband in makeup and their three children.
Their house was not big, but it was always filled with laughter, love, and the aroma of fresh and cooking.
Everyone in the town knew Mama Joy.
for her generous heart. If a neighbor was hungry, she shared her food. If a widow needed
help, she was the first to assist. If a child lapsed school fees, Mama Joy would contribute
whatever little she had. People often say, Mama Joy has a heart of gold. Her husband
would smile and tell her, one day, all this kindness will return to you. Mama Joy will
meet him. Little did she know that her life was about to change. One rainy afternoon, Emeka
and the children traveled to a nearby city to buy supplies for their small business.
Mama Joy stayed behind. As she was preparing dinner, a young man rushed into her compound.
Mama Joy! Mama Joy! She dropped a spoon in her hand. What is it? There has been an accident.
Her heart froze. What accident? The bus carrying her husband and children crashed.
The world around her seemed to stop. She ran barefoot through muddy streets to the hospital.
When she arrived, she saw her husband and children lying unconscious on hospital beds.
Machines beaked around them.
Blood stained their clothes.
The doctor approached her.
They are still alive, but they need urgent surgery.
Mama Joy held on to her.
Doctor, please, send me off.
The doctor sighed.
You must deposit five million naira immediately.
We cannot be given procedures apart.
Mama Joy felt the ground disappeared beneath her feet.
The next morning, she began running from house to house.
First, she went to her closest friend.
My sister, please help me. My family is dying.
The woman looked away.
I wish I could, but I don't have that kind of money.
Mama Joy nodded and left.
She went to another neighbor.
The man shook his head.
I have expenses of my own.
Another said, I would help if I could.
Another said, try somewhere else.
Another simply closed the door.
Mama Joy couldn't believe it.
These were the same people she had fed, the same people she had helped,
the same people she had sacrificed for.
Yet nobody came to her rescue.
Day after day, she begged.
She sold her children, she sold her furniture, she even sold her land.
Still, the money wasn't enough.
Three days later, the doctor called her.
Mama Joy rushed to the hospital.
The doctor's face already told her the truth.
I'm sorry.
Her knees buckled.
No.
Your husband passed away this morning.
She screamed.
A few hours later, her eldest son died.
By nightfall, the other children followed.
Mama Jo lost her entire family in a single day.
Her cries echoed through the hospital corridors.
The woman who once comforted others had nobody left to comfort her.
The funeral was attended by many townspeople.
They shed tears. They spoke kind words. But Mama Joy saw only hypocrisy. Where were these tears when her family needed help? Where were these people when she was begging for money? Bitterness slowly replaced her kindness.
months passed. Mama Joy stopped smiling. She stopped attending gatherings. She stopped helping
people. She spent most nights alone. One evening, an old mysterious woman approached her. I know
your pain. Mama Joy looked at her with tired eyes. He knew nothing. The woman smiled. I know that
those people abandoned you. Mama Joy remained silent. I know you want justice. The old woman
handed her a strange calabash. There are powers in this world greater than mine. Mama Joy
hesitated. What powers? Powers that can make people feel the same pain you felt. The seeds
the darkness had already been planted in her heart.
That night, she followed the old woman into the forest.
I'm the one behind every problem you are passing through.
Please forgive me.
What?
Please forgive me.
Can't get enough there.
You see that?
Because she couldn't forgive.
What happened?
A strange spirit did what?
Visited her.
So, some unforgiveness, you want to pay the people back.
But since, I'm telling you, if you keep on paying people back,
You are the one that's going to find yourself in misery
Because what the people
Somebody was praying for the people
The people got their freedom
Because you see the thing about it is when God comes
He's not going to ask you about what people did to you
He's going to ask you what you did to them
In return
Hallelujah
So the word of God is saying that he heals our broken heart
We have to be fast
And since you have to acknowledge that this is what I'm going through
And bring you to the throne of grace
And let the Lord God Almighty heal you
Amen
psalm 34 verse 18 let's look at what is the word of god is saying psalm 34 verse 18
psalm 34 verse 18 let's read it together the lord is nigh unto them that are of what
a broken heart and save it such as be of a contrite spirit amen so he's saying that when
you are in pain god is near near to you because sometimes when we are going through we feel
abandoned we feel rejected somebody are you here with me oh you all you feel is the pain you feel
like the whole world is against you but i need to tell you that the word of god is telling us that
the lord is near to those of us that are brokenhearted amen and the lord is why he saved
those that are contrite spirit and let's look at ezekiel chapter 26 ezekiel chapter 36 verse 26
ezekiel chapter 36 verse 26 because this cycle is so strong that since if you don't get healed by it
if you don't get healed by your childhood broken heart do you know that you take it to a relationship
do you know that some of us we can't even it's not that we we can't even receive love do you
know this thing that's going on we are going around and saying i love you by force you know
some people is crushing them in your heart what are they saying they are fake no no that's not true
but they're just saying because all your life all our life we have experienced broken heart
we have experienced disappointment cycles of shame and reproach so because of that you cannot receive
love amen so if you can't receive love when you go into a marriage can you give love no you cannot
because you always have something at the back of our mind that somebody wants to hurt us but today
i pray that we all get healed in the name of jesus hallelujah oh somebody hallelujah
hallelujah because listen some of the broken heart it cuts us to the core our heart bleeds
so we are going around with a bleeding heart and a bleeding heart cannot receive receive love but
today if we can allow the law look at what ezekiel chapter 36 verse 26 says let's read it
says what a new heart also will i give you and a new spirit will i put within you and i will take
away the stony heart out of your flesh and i will give you a heart of flesh amen so someone touch
your heart and say father give me a new spirit oh pray father give me a new heart oh that i'll be
able to receive love so that i'll be able to give love to others oh hallelujah oh hallelujah
because since you know what on unforgiveness is it said it said it's a deliberate
holding of offense do you know that you deliberately holding on to the offense
and you don't want to let it go but this is our year of release we have to know what we have to
forgive people and how you forgive people is you deliberately do what release them oh hallelujah
amen or somebody you deliberately do what release them open your mouth some of you open your mouth
anybody that is in your heart open your mouth release them mention their name one by one
my god i release them anybody that has hurt you from your childhood up to now
marco said father my god i release them in the mighty name of jesus we are doing an exercise this
morning anyone my god whether it is your father some people we are holding on forgiveness to some
people that are already in the grave open your mouth and release them your father your mother
your grandfather your grandmother your brother your sister your siblings whoever your co-workers
your friend the past friend the first boyfriend the second boyfriend the third boyfriend your
husband your former husband your present husband so father my god we release them we release them
holy ghost help us we release them do a surgery in us today ah take out the stony heart and give
us the heart of pleasure hey makoto sicka tyler mekata masoto kataya and you feel like crying cry
wipe it out in the name of jesus father my god do a surgery in our hearts of god and remove that heart
that story and give us a heart of flesh in the mighty name of jesus lord say something because
you know what this thing it leads to cancer because what does it do it releases bad toxins
in our body hallelujah bad toxins high blood pressure my god all these things are what
consequences of working in what unforgiveness already when you are working with someone that's
what i say program yourself that they will offend you yes hallelujah program yourself but i need to
to them i have a sermon forgiveness write it down the doorway to blessing forgiveness
that doorway to your blessing forgiveness the doorway i'm not going to be on with you too long
forgiveness the doorway to your blessing because all forgiveness it blocks your blessing but when
you forgive you open the door for the blessing to come hallelujah amen so in job chapter 42 verse 10
job chapter 42 verse 10 says and the lord turned the captivity of job when he prayed for his friends
also the lord gave job twice as much as he had before amen because all forgiveness will stop you
from praying for someone but when you forgive and you release someone what do you do you want good
things to happen to them you have nothing against them since i'm telling you if there are people that
we have in our hearts today when we finish service from people just call them be intentional about
forgiving people the people that have hurt us most most of it that's the ones we need to end this
that is why i put a thing on the our whatsapp i said love is painful do you know that love can be
painful yes but if you want to be free if you want to receive your bubble oh somebody if you want to
receive your blessing oh you better do what release them hallelujah because it is what job
did what? He prayed for his friends.
These are the friends that were ridiculing
him. These are the friends that were
talking about him. These are the friends that
were, when Job was down. Do you know, have you had
a friend when we are down, they want to bring you down
more? Oh, hallelujah.
Job was in a position where
he was down. They were the ones
that were helping Job to be more,
go down more to the grave.
I'm telling you, amen. But Job
got up and went, what? He prayed
for those friends. And the Lord
did what? Gave him double. Amen.
hallelujah because you see why unforgiveness is a hidden barrier you know it blocks blessings
because as i'm walking with by the jaw he has something to offer and i have something to offer
so most times you know what the enemy does the places of your blessing is where the door
the doors of unforgiveness will open look at that couple that can do so much the enemy will block
use unforgiveness then everybody's doing their own what you are doing your thing i'm doing my thing
but the word of god even says that they are one and there is nothing that they cannot do
amen hallelujah oh they what they are what they are one so there is nothing that they cannot do
do you know that this church we were one that's why we're able to buy this building
do you know that we were one that's what way to buy this building if we are not one we couldn't
have done it so for the enemy to anytime the enemy will start whispering to you about the church
whispering to you about your spouse whispering to you about your family you know what he's trying
to do cause division as long as he can divide he can do what he can conquer so then we are
but i love it one day prophet nana said he was laying in bed he said i was laying there and i
was just angry at my wife he said as he was laying there he could see oh let's go out open his eyes
and he realized that he was laying like this a snake was in between them and the wife was laying
like that what do you think so the same snake that was speaking to him was the same snake that was
speaking to the wife that day he conquered unforgiveness oh somebody say i let it go
in the name of jesus forgiveness releases you from captivity because since if we carry
on forgiveness we are held captive the enemy has kept us bound sometimes they were mine
our imaginations since if you have thoughts of destroying someone you yourself will be destroyed
it because it's a seed when you saw you shall surely do a reap so now you are going around
thinking something evil is going to happen to the person but anytime you wake up in the morning the
person is driving a new car hey the person is buying a new house you saw you should get to a
place where you know that that thing that you are thinking for that person is coming to you instead
of that person hallelujah you are waiting for evil to happen to the person nothing will happen
God is the God that reigns on
Do you know that God reigns on the just and unjust
Let me tell you
Some of the millionaires, they don't even know who Jesus is
Hallelujah
That's a millionaires right now
They don't know who Jesus is
He reigns on the just and what?
And the unjust
So we have to come to a place where you know that
Father, let me let everybody live their life
This did not go where I wanted me to go
But I release them
In the name of Jesus
Hallelujah
Forgiveness
opens the door for restoration he said i will restore unto you the years that the locusts have
eaten their canker worms their palmer worms because you see unforgiveness is another spread of pride
you know yes you are saying that you want to take vengeance you want to do the thing by yourself
but forgiveness is saying that father i surrender to you this one i can't carry it anymore i'll
leave everything into the hands of god you will work everything together for my good hallelujah
hallelujah and the enemy has a strategy of playing that that thing in our ear 24 7
you wake up in the morning that's what we think of we go to bed that's what we think of but we
have to come to a place we know that god is working everything together for my god
so i let them go in the name of jesus hallelujah but since you know what i've noticed that
i was also preparing this message the holy spirit said to me especially we that are coming from the
african background we don't take time to heal we don't allow ourselves to heal because we are raised
to overcome things you know something they'll say oh you are man you oh why are you sad you are man
oh you gotta toughen up but meanwhile the man is bleeding man don't cry did you hear what he said
so some things that shake yourself and let it go but it's not easy to shake it and let it go
sometimes you need to talk to someone and somebody can encourage you oh somebody hallelujah
and so the person can pray with you and let me tell you and you'll be healed because in sometimes
in my workplace this one they will just come to me oh my sister this is what i'm feeling right now
and then they'll just say i don't know why i'm feeling like this i think this past week somebody
came to me but i said to her i said you see she's white she's able to do this we black people will
never do it she said miss i don't know this is how i feel i feel so depressed i don't know why
i get up i can't do anything for myself i can't i just feel like i'm a failure i'm telling and this
is a person that is doing well but she's saying this is what i'm doing what i'm feeling right now
so that you can also i said to her i'll pray for you and then i said let's sit and talk when did
they start what happened but you see we we have to toughen up everything but I'm
telling you that allow yourself to heal listen allow you sometimes you just have
to take some worship songs and receive the what the worship song in your heart
and cool your heart down sometimes I just have to let the father heal me I going through because the best way for you to get what heal from unforgiveness is acknowledge what made you so better
if you're able to acknowledge it acknowledge it and you know that the church is big too and say
yeah yeah yeah and yeah go go hug the person sometimes you are not ready to hug the person yet
hallelujah the church is bigger oh let it go forget it forget no you sometimes you are not
ready to forget it yet you are in pain you allow yourself to heal sometimes you have to distance
yourself from that thing that causes you the pain do you know that but the church will not even allow
you to distance yourself we put the person in fire in the same fire oh hallelujah so if somebody's
going to marital problem they'll say go home hug your know what that person is going through but
i tell you that sometimes you just need to you know one day i love pastor terry there was a time
i know she don't mind me sharing this she was going through in her marriage she would just
friday she would just go and book a hotel and stay there i was so i was just when i used to
look at that and be like what me from i'm like we would never be allowed to do that but she'll
book a hotel stay there for the whole weekend she said i don't want to see anybody do you know
that's something you need that to heal oh somebody allow yourself sometimes give yourself the tender
love and care that is how you can heal love yourself because the word of god said i love
people as you love one yourself if you don't know how to treat yourself you cannot treat other people
hallelujah find sometimes find somewhere to go to a retreat go there shut in amen
shut in and be there for the whole week take a vacation by yourself because you need to come in
touch with your heart your heart again hallelujah when you come back you'll be revived hallelujah
sometimes you know it's as simple as even going to do a pedicure and manicure and sitting there
and letting them massage your body being quiet because everything around you is noisy so now you
allow god to do a huge you again so that you can come back and function and because somebody loves
life can sometimes be painful but i need to tell you that god is the god that heals the broken heart
oh and he said he's near oh somebody hallelujah to the broken heart and he can mend that broken
heart and restore us again in the mighty name of jesus oh hallelujah oh hallelujah
oh somebody hallelujah so matthew chapter 18 verse 15 to 22. matthew chapter 18.
turn to your neighbor and say apostle is not preaching long ago you were late
matthew chapter 18 starting from verse 15. amen it says moreover if thy brother shall trespass
against thee go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone if he shall not hear thee
thou hast gain he shall what he shall hear thee thou shall what gain has gained his brother
this is what the word of jesus is telling us to do when it comes to offense
zon has done something to me i have to be boldly be able to go to jesse
zon i didn't like the way you smiled the way you did okay because sometimes
do you know that the way we are thinking is not how the person is also thinking
the person was do you know oh why is she looking at me and laughing
you know what the person's mind is not even on you
hallelujah so when you go to the person oh i didn't even see you
oh but you know i'm if that's how it made you so one thing that i've been
telling even my staff is like everything is about perception when somebody comes to you
it's their perception if that is what is making you feel i i really apologize for doing that
and that's it that's what the word of god is saying the word of god said if that person
accept whatever it is you have gained your brother so it means that god is telling us that
we should work more on gaining our brother than losing our brother because sometimes we can even
be in church and we have the attitude yeah whatever i don't care whatever i don't care no
the word of god is telling us that we have to work on doing what gaining our brother so if i really
really love my brother and something has happened between us if i really want that thing to be fixed
and i don't want to cause the problem who is the first person i should go to your brother
because if i go to past america she fix the problem no because sometimes the enemy since let
let me tell you something the word of god says we are not fighting against one flesh and blood
we are fighting against principalities and powers when he sees that there is a good thing coming in
the purple and let me tell anywhere there is good he will come and put his his seats there
if he sees that a marriage can can do something powerful do you know that's where the enemy will
come and say that oh when he sees a ministry that is going to thrive that is the same place the enemy
and see so we already have to know the truths of the enemy he's always speaking in the garden of
eden he was speaking how did he cause adam and eve to give up their what their glory by speaking to
them hallelujah so he said if a brother hurts you go to them and if they admitted you have done what
you've gained your brother let's go to the next verse uh-huh but if you will not let's read it
together but if you will not hear thee then take it with thee one or two more that in the mouth of
two or three witnesses every word may be established so some people do not if you gather two three
people they'll still not admit it so we have to be quick to say oh i'm really sorry and since i'm
telling you since when we apologize and sometimes you don't feel like it you sometimes even in your
head you feel right do you know that you feel right the person feel right at the end of the day
somebody is the devil it's the devil that has decided to bring confusion so at that point i'm
so sorry yes i'm so sorry i'm so sorry that's how it made you feel you have gained your brother amen
so now you got now you have one or two people to go with you let's go to the next verse
uh-huh and if he shall let's read it you shall neglect to hear them tell it to the world
come to the church but if he neglect to hear the church let him be unto thee as an heathen man
and a publican can you imagine he said tell it to the church you have tried i'm explaining to you
the person still don't understand the word of god said at this point let him go he didn't say hold
that grudge against that person he said let him be like somebody who is in the world that's why
they don't understand and i have also come to a place to know that sometimes it is the level of
the person's ignorance sometimes we do not have something we are ignorant so that when somebody
comes to say ah you did this ah what did i do that for when no oh that's what i'm it's it's our level
of ignorance so sometimes the reason why god is telling us to let the person go because the person
who may be years down the line the person themselves forget this ah this thing i didn't do it right
hallelujah oh somebody hallelujah or something if you leave vengeance for god god will put that
person in the same situation they put you in and then they'll realize that oh this thing that i did
look at how it has come to hit me in my face hallelujah and then they'll remember that yeah
look at the thing that i did hallelujah amen uh-huh let's go and let's go to the next verse 18
verily i say unto you whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven and whatsoever
ye shall lose on earth shall be loose in heaven you know you know why jesus said that so since
you know that when we hold on forgiveness and bitterness against people we bind them
so now if i have already bound him he can be free to do what he wants to do
so he's saying that you anything that you buy anything that you say forgive is forgiven anything
that you say is unforgiving is what unforgiving hallelujah so sometimes we are in relationships
that we have bound people or somebody say i lose them in the name of jesus oh somebody say i lose
all my family members hallelujah because since if you don't lose them they cannot have the right
mind because god is telling us you have the power to bind and you have the power to lose so decide
that you are going to lose some people lose them from the bondage lose them from their unforgiveness
lose them from the anger lose them from that bitterness lose them from that thing that you
are thinking about them you are waiting for something bad to happen somebody go and say we
should do what lose them let them go because as you let them go you let yourself go too
you can be free to do your because you know there's a scripture that i will never forget
john he said the joy of the lord is our strength do you know how the enemy robs our blessing
by stealing our joy because when you don't have joy you enter into a place you are not able to
function the way you go to work how many of us have gone to work when we are not happy oh hallelujah
you can't function you can be so confused hallelujah my mama you might you are next you
my god give the wrong medicine because of that because why you are so bitter and angry you can't
even think right maybe at that moment god wants to give you a witty idea with invention but our
mind is already angry oh we just want to pay somebody back but today i want to tell everybody
here oh somebody say and let it go hallelujah let it go because why if you don't they stole
they've stolen your joy and as long as they've stolen your joy you don't have the strength to
function the way god wants you to function there is so somebody said there is so much i have to do
on this earth so much i have to do so i lose myself to do it you might have a story about this woman
she was uh what do you call it she was going to church anytime she come home her husband was not
they didn't believe in church the husband will be talking about the church today this or more
down one day when she come in the husband sometimes will lock the door and the woman will sleep outside
the woman after the in the morning the man who opened the door she'll come in and the first
thing that will come out of him um do you what do you want to eat for breakfast
she opened up and said what do you want to eat for breakfast they said one day as this
this man opened the door the way this woman came with humility and said what what do you want to
eat today that man became started crying gave him like himself to jesus since i'm telling you you
never know who is going to you're going to touch because of your humility amen because if the
person is giving it to you and you are giving it to them oh somebody fire for fire nothing is going
to happen hallelujah nothing let me tell this strategy that god gave me this year i'm telling
you about when i show up to the job when i show up to the job i go to every individual staff member
and i just say hello how are you doing check on them is there anything that you need from me
then i'll go to the next person every one of them whether you are behaving or misbehaving or not
misbehaving i'll go to all of them until one day two of them two of my staff started fighting and
when they started the argument i brought them to my office and closed the door so and then i started
talking to them about you know professionalism and the workplace and loving one another
you know one of them said i really have this thing the way i wanted to take you down but i
will listen to her because i've seen her demonstrate in front of us what what no matter what we do
she comes and say hello to every one of us do you know that they left my office and they hugged
now they are best friends so that's right there some of us oh do you know they are best friends
now so can you just imagine so i was telling pastor terry yesterday i said pastor terry we
cannot preach a message we cannot model let me not preach a message so i'm telling you before i
preach this message god brought somebody to my attention i called the person before i came to
preach this message because i don't want to be a preacher of a message i want to be a doer of the
message oh are you hearing me i cannot come and preach this message to you and tell you to forgive
and me i am walking in the office that means that the word of god oh hallelujah it will not bring
any change this person she said she got out and then she hugged the other nurse and now the other
they are telling me do you see every minute they are in their ears i don't know what they are talking
about they are best friends now because she said i see you she said my sister i don't know how you
do it i know some of them you know what they said you heard what they said i said because i've already
decided i'm forgiving them already since i am saying so what can as a child of god and positioning
yourself in christ it's not that it's not a joke because if i'm saying this thing i'm talking about
it's not a joke but you have to because if you don't it will block your blessing hallelujah
john prayed for his friends and the lord gave him what double hallelujah uh-huh let's go to the next
verse uh-huh uh-huh 19 again i say unto you that if two of you shower oh let's read it agree on
earth as touching anything that they shall ask it shall be done for them of my father which is in
heaven so now you see why the confusion so if you see mr frank and nana not fighting don't go and be
you know some people some churches they love to do that some christians we love to do that
when we see a problem in a couple we want to go and help the problem and find the fire
until there's more problems no because right away you should program yourself to know that something
great is about to come to them and the enemy has already started to set it up hallelujah amen
because when the two of them touch in what come to agreement as touching anything let me tell you
there was a test that pastor terry and i had to pass a test that we both of us have to pass
someone came to work in the agency and the person did so much pastor terry the day we both sat down
to talk to the person the person started telling some things that she said she claimed that when i
went to ghana pastor terry did here if i if i had listened to this person we won't be here right now
so you have to come to a place where you know that my relationship with this person is more
important to what i'm hearing and i think when that person saw that she was standing in our face
and telling us that showing that seed expecting a reaction but up to now the person did not get that
reaction that is what the enemy does amen hallelujah so can if because if two of us agree
are starting anything it will do be established so if we are not in agreement pastor terry and i can
stay here and pray for 10 hours we are not in agreement nothing will happen yes that is why some
people since i'm telling you because you know that the word of god says any man that marries
obtain favor from the lord anytime i see a married man not working in favor i know they are not in
agreement and the enemy has set up a thing where it will make sure that the what the blessings will
not flow so since we have to push oh somebody's i push to agree i push to agree oh i hold myself to
agree i hold myself to i forgive to agree so if you come to grace international you really believe
that you can come to grace and nobody is going to upset you hey come on come on that you think that
you can come to this church nobody's going to upset you nobody everything is going to be beautiful
i tell people in your home is everything beautiful no so you come everybody has different backgrounds
from different homes oh somebody different countries we have all come together then we are
not going to agree but we have to do well know that as long as we agree as touching anything
oh my god and that they shall ask it shall be what damn for them of my father which is in heaven
not of people that is what so unforgiveness means that you have put your heart on that person
all forgiveness you know there are some persons they say ah me when they come to the church i'll
collect everything that i need to collect from them because when they get blessings they leave
they are working in unforgiveness so you think that when they come you have to start doing
some things to take stuff from them because you think they're going to leave you are you're working
in unforgiveness if you say that god works everything together for our good let's go to next verse
20. for where were two or three oh are you here where two are gathered together what
there i am in the midst of them so you see what mama sophie the enemy is fighting us
he knows that when we agree he's there so then when we pray he will do what we answer
so we make sure that anytime that two people come together something has to happen watch and see
oh are you clapping your hands i hope you are getting anytime two people come together something
has to happen when you are alone because he said once i put a thousand to fly when i come to this
prayer room and i begin to pray i can put a thousand immediately pass a theory comes is what
so the animal makes sure that the ten thousand stays out there oh hallelujah so confusion will
happen oh somebody hallelujah the lies will happen but somebody will need to push out of it
in the name of jesus hallelujah let's go to the next verse uh-huh
uh-huh then came peter to him and said lord how often shall my brother sin against me
and i forgive him till seven times this is what his faith level was seven times
do you know some of us our faith level is only one time you cross me one time that's it
that's what our faith level is but peter his faith level was what seven jesus said let's i want all
of us to read this one jesus verse 20 uh-huh jesus said unto him i say not on today until seven times
but what until 70 times seven where's my children calculated for us
that's not the mathematicians uh-huh what is it 490 490 so people tell you and go to somebody
and have you since you started church have i offended you 490 go to them go go go to them
ask them hallelujah since you
mr frank is sitting back there have you offended you 490 times
ask them have i offended this is oh
maybe 10. maybe 10. somebody say maybe 10. can you just imagine 490 times but someone
you know that there are people that we have cut off for one
somebody lift up your hands how many people we've cut off for one this thing that they have done is
done some of us too our field level is only two they do one two damn some of us is three one two
three is done but jesus no my son said this one uh 490 so if you decide not to come to church
because we have done something to you ask tell us oh we have done 490 times then we'll release you
to go amen hallelujah 490 times and since do you know that even for you to count the 490 times you
are really better because who can count oh so as much as we can oh so as much as we can sit down
and even talk and talk and say they did this to me then they did this that can you count 490.
no you know there's a proper test a story about this woman that took the the husband to for
counseling he said ah papa if you would know the things this man has done to me you yourself you
will cancel this marriage and they said what has he done she brought a big book that she has kept
in her in under her bed and she started number one papa said you you are sick hallelujah how many of
us can even say we are going to sit down even you write and write of my 30 something years of marriage
i don't think i can count 490 things but as bad as hell hallelujah hallelujah so nobody
god is telling us that we have no reason but to work in unforgiveness no matter what somebody has
done how many times they have done it we have to find it in our heart to forgive hallelujah oh
hallelujah oh somebody hallelujah how many people are going to make some calls when we leave here
I'm telling you, just check on them.
Sometimes buy them a gift, release yourself.
Do you know that?
My strategy is I buy them a gift.
Because I want to release myself.
It means that I've come to a place where I want something good to happen to them.
I bless them.
Hallelujah, pray for them.
Amen?
And what have you done?
You have actually done what?
Release them.
Because if you don't release them, they are bound.
They can't come out.
Amen?
Hallelujah.
And as long as those people are bound, we are also bound.
So we release ourselves.
in the mighty name of jesus hallelujah hallelujah i want to just give you one scripture and then
we go ephesians chapter 4 starting from verse 29 and we are about to finish ephesians chapter 4
starting from verse 29 i'm telling you allow yourself to heal you are here you were divorced
do you know that divorce is the that that is the i believe that that pain is unbearable
separation you are separated
it's unbearable pain
right now even the message that I'm
preaching you are like you don't even know apostle
what I'm going through right now
let me tell you something but somebody
you can let it go
if you don't let it go if you don't close that door
new doors will not open
hallelujah hallelujah
it says look at this
let no corrupt communication
proceed out of your mouth
but that which is good to the use
of what edifying
that it may minister grace
unto the hearers.
But say, do you know that this position,
we can't be until we are forgiven?
Because if you have forgiveness,
you can't speak any good thing to anyone.
Anytime you think of them.
I've been there, you hear their name.
You just be like, hmm.
You only think evil for them
because you think they've done evil for you.
Evil against you.
But I need to tell you that the word of God is telling us that
let Noah corrupt.
Let me see if I get it in the message Bible.
let's hear what the americans are saying uh-huh ephesians 4 29 message bible thank you jesus
thank you jesus or anybody else have another translation uh-huh let's go
let's listen what did he say watch the way you are uh-huh let nothing war
He saying that we should say only what helps each word a gift hallelujah say only what helps
and and says do you know for us to do that you have to consciously practice it because sometimes
from our environment you know if you grew up from a broken home everybody was fighting
everybody was bickering sometimes uh for whom with multiple marriages children these stepchildren
Do you know that this is something we need to practice?
Amen?
Something we need to practice.
You be heard.
This is something you need to practice.
You are in separation.
You are in a bad marriage.
This is something you need to practice.
Amen?
Hallelujah.
Watch the way we work.
Watch the way we talk.
Let nothing foul or dirty come out of our mouth.
Say only what helps.
Oh, somebody say from this day, I say only what helps.
Oh.
Oh.
oh somebody lift up your right hand father from this day i say only what helps oh you are actually
my god father i say only what helps so now when i'm sitting there on the olivia and i don't come
and they have a problem and they share my first will be ah you why did you do that no i will only
say what will help those people to come together and grow together amen because why i don't want
destroy their marriage when uh uh pastor mary and nana and the son-in-law do you know that do you know
that this is a strong dynamic right now if we if something happens to the three of them we have to
say what help because already anything can happen do you know that you are you have a couple and you
have a mother-in-law the devil already wants something to happen so we the church have to
be prepared that immediately he calls she calls and says ah and you see a net frank and you say
and now nana say oh my mother we have to be ready to see what what helps but not let us all put fire
in until we see they're all separated hallelujah and the three of them have already have to program
their mind that anything can happen yes offense will come yes because already the the world is
saying that mother-in-law is a problem you know that that's what the world is saying so immediately
you go and tell someone that oh my mother-in-law today i saw that she did this and that what are
they going to tell you but we have the church have to do what say what helps oh are you are you hearing
me oh if you don't take today if you don't take in your work oh somebody say in my workplace
in my well place i will only say what helps in my family i will only say what helps
oh hallelujah that's 30 that's 30 let's go and then we go home uh-huh 30 uh-huh don't work
grieve god don't break his heart his holy spirit moving and breathing in you is the most intimate
part of your life making you fit for himself don't take such a gift for granted since i'm telling
about we take it for granted sometimes by the way we talk by the way we don't bring peace he said as
much as it is let what be at peace with all men do you know that you know that that's what the word
of god says as much as as much as there are some people you try to give peace they won't take it
but the word of god as much as you can be at peace with all men so now somebody's knocking
your door with something that is disappointing you says ah you know there's a word of god said
be angry and do what say not you can be angry but don't say let it go and he said do not take your
your anger to sleep do you know that that's a word of god do not sleep with your anger
so now something has happened between me and mama sophie we have to get to a place by midnight we
We let you go.
Oh, hallelujah.
By midnight, because since, listen,
if all of us in this church come to a place that,
Brother George, it's important to me that that anger that I'm holding.
Can you imagine?
My relationship, when this woman tempted me and Pastor Terry,
I came to a place and I said,
my relationship with Pastor Terry is important than what she's telling me right now.
Amen.
Can we all do that?
Yes.
Oh, hallelujah.
Amen.
Can we all do that?
oh are you clapping your hands can we all do that my relationship because listen because if you have
not put anything in a relationship we can let it go do you know that but i remember when the when i
was in trials and tribulation she was there for me i remember that when we were coming to buy this
building she's the one that stood up and just said i said pastelle give me 10 000 she just gave it to
me so sometimes you got to see the value of that of someone better than that thing that happened
between you and that person hallelujah and you have to let that thing do well let it go
oh hallelujah i have seen pastor mary and mama sophie they've been friends for a long time
do you know that mama sophie some of you don't know that mama sophie uh uh pastor mary's children
pastor mary and uh nana joyce all of them used to live with sophie do you know that yeah so sometimes
you don't know which where you are so you know do you know that sometimes we don't know where we are
showing today look at joyce today look at nana look at all of them but they all didn't they all live
with you yeah you see what i'm saying so sometimes you got we have to let me quick quick so quick to
forgive because we don't know what is going to happen tomorrow oh somebody hallelujah we don't
know what is going to happen tomorrow we have to let it go don't grieve and then when we do that
said don't have a steady one let's go because i want us to finish 31 make one oh somebody let's
rise up and read it together make a a clean break with all cutting back biting profane talk be gentle
with one another sensitive forgive one another as quickly and thoroughly as god in christ forgive you
and you know that the word of god says that when you don't forgive people don't come and pray to me
so do you know that what some of our block prayers is because of some people we are holding hostage
because the same thing if i right now i do something to i i hate pastor you i'm coming
and i bump mama sophie and if i bump her and she's not forgiving me and she also come and
bump you olivia and then she expects you to forgive how can that happen oh and since i need
to tell you that you see every that's the things that we want others to forgive us you might say oh
this one is so simple i didn't do that much well but it's not it's not you that is feeling it it's
that person hallelujah but so the word of god says just forgive them let them go amen hallelujah
let it go so that our prayers will not be what will end it if we lord god we want god to forgive
us we have to also forgive others hallelujah if you want what you can be in the church since
everywhere you go you have opportunity to hold on forgiveness in your marriage with your children
since sometimes you don't even come out of your home in your community oh hallelujah but we don't
want to be that better person that when we die we die alone because i know a woman that did that
she's the one that brought all her family to united states but by the end she wasn't talking to
anybody because why everybody will do something she don't like maybe she called them they did not
come right i'm the one that brought you to america i'm calling you won't come they did not come amen
they're doing whatever they and she got so bitter but when she died i watched that woman die as much
as riches that she had they buried her in a sweater because no family member was there it was
other people they put sweater on and put them on i see this woman did not have anything but this
woman could have been buried all these people would have come and rejoice at the one at her
burial because of the good that she so sometimes listen because we have all forgiveness the good
that we did for people they can't even thank us because we are so angry hallelujah hallelujah
some people the people that we have on forgiveness they are dead though we are still we are still
upset they are dead we are still when we talk about you don't even know what my mother did
now you do you see my grandmother she's the one that told me i'm fat and oh let me tell you
something i had to tell somebody that if some african person call you fat they are not insulting
you no they're thinking that you are beautiful oh hallelujah so sometimes there's cultures that are
banging in and you know they came in you know that there's some cultures that don't look at you in
your eyes so if you don't take care i came to church i greet the usher she didn't even look
me in the eyes and say i love you some cultures they can't look people in their eyes do you know
that do you know that when the when we did christina's knock knock the family came to us
and why is everybody coming and greeting hands they don't know that we that's what we do our
culture we shake everybody's hands oh and that's who they bowing and i'm used to here i say why
everybody bowing oh hallelujah oh hallelujah so we have to understand that people assistant people
are raised different yes in the home like me my home you better know that you know some homes the
cabinet will be open i cannot stand it hallelujah so that was the war when we got married shut it up
open it shout it up so i miss it if you say you are going to walk in unforgiveness you have every
opportunity to walk in unforgiveness but let's make it a point a point that listen as long as
i'm with this person something is going to happen as long as i'm in grace international me make up
your mind i can offend you make it about all the passes can offend you the praise and worship might
not sing the song you like hallelujah oh the ushers will not greet you when you come in
something can happen in this sanctuary right here while we are here so already make up our
mind that we are going to walk in what forgiveness because we do not want to block our blessings oh
hallelujah oh hallelujah but listen this is such a sensitive topic that anybody here
because there are people that are being healed right now.
You want to be healed. Come.
I'll let the pastors pray for you.
You want to be there. There's an area that you are struggling with.
I want to give you the opportunity.
Don't hide. And if you feel comfortable
that you feel like you're uncomfortable to
come up here, after the service you can call.
We will pray with you. Amen.
Hallelujah. If we have to assign
you to someone for a whole year.
Come. If you want to come, come.
If we have to assign you to someone
for a whole... Do you know that counseling
takes long yeah you know that because i know that in my workplace they give you 20 sessions
20 sessions that you go free so that you can you can heal if you want to be healed be healed sometimes
divorce break up you know that and we don't hear because the church have programmers like we just
have to be tough but sometimes you can't just be tough about it but if you are here you want all
of us to pray for it's not just me all of us will stretch our hands and pray for you come to the
front you are hurting come you are hiding don't hide it hallelujah don't hide it i love you zon
come forward don't let me tell something rejection let me tell you something listen there's something
abuse you know that my god abuse someone took advantage of you come forward any pain i want
the pastors to come and pray for them come and pray for them
Always fighting, fighting, fighting with me.
And everything that he does,
he forgives them.
Always still doing it.
Is it 409?
What?
409.
And he's still cooking your heart.
I always wanted to give you sickness in your heart.
What do you do?
Forgive.
I've been forgiving you.
I've been forgiving me.
Always fighting it.
But do you see what you just said to us?
So now, if, Zon,
if someone is always
fighting with you, and you already
know that this is how this person is,
it's no longer about the person.
You have to change the way you relate to that person.
It's not praying.
It's like change the strategy
with that person.
Do you know that? Because let me tell you something.
Do you know that? How many of us know that we can't
change anybody?
It's only God that can change people.
It's okay.
We'll pray and after service,
somebody will minister one of the pastors will minister to you but i need to tell you that you
know we can't everyone lift up your hands when we finish we finish you can talk we can talk after
we service but do you know that we can't change anybody we cannot change anyone yeah and you are
the one listen you can change to the so the person has no choice to change because listen the person
is coming did you hear what you just said the person is starting the fight are you meeting the
person with the fight no then you let it go leave them alone leave them
we know what you mean but that's what i'm saying now it's okay we'll let one of the pastors do
minister to your pastor barry i think you'll be strong in this area so we're about pastor mary
people but we'll pray for anybody else that needs prayer that one or one so because sometimes you
just need to heal you know that you just need to heal if you don't heal you can be set free
amen so let's stretch our hands lift up your hands we stretch our hands on them so father we just
thank you god father you said you are closer near to those that are brokenhearted and you heal them
of every unforgiveness every bitterness so father i pray in the name of jesus now father anything
that anyone has done against them that they are holding on to it i pray in the name of jesus that
by the power of the holy ghost that they will be able to release it in the mighty name of jesus
father i come against the spread of fear father i pray and i bind the works of the adversary
and i release peace in their hearts in the mighty name of jesus father my god let the holy spirit
rest upon them mightily and erase the pain of the past from them in the mighty name of jesus father
we just thank you for peace we thank you god and we bless you in jesus name amen amen there are two
of you after service because i don't want to take this lightly you see after service come and see me
okay and anyone here there is because sometimes in church we are easy to say forgive forget but
people hold on to it and it blocks blessings amen so after the service we will separate each pastor
will take one of you and if there anyone here that needs healing come and even if we have to
work with you for a year for you to let this thing go we'll help you amen hallelujah amen let's go
